Positive Discipline in the Classroom Online - July 24 - 28,

 5 Online sessions meet 1:00pm - 4:00pm, Central Standard Time on July 24, 25, 26, 27  & 28, 2023.   A minimum number of participants is required to run the course.   ISBE CE credits available to IL licensed professionals for an additional $10 fee.


BRAIN CENTERED SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING STRATEGIES AND LEADERSHIP FOR YOUR CLASSROOM AND SCHOOL

Creating healing centered spaces has never been more important. Join SEL Chicago online this summer to build your classroom community (both remotely and in a physical setting)  with a perspective that combines restorative practices, trauma informed tools and classroom leadership that will help build social emotional skills AND classroom communities focused on problem solving. 


This work supports the philosophy of Authoritative Leadership. 


This online interactive workshop is designed for educators, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an authoritative leadership approach that integrates social and emotional learning while increasing helpful responses to challenging student behaviors.   Participants will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to:


  • Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches.
  • Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures.
  • Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect.
  • Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change.
  • Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving.
  • Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community.

 

Pricing: 

  • $399 - Advanced Registration (payments received by June 24, 2023)
  • $450 - General Registration (registrations after June 24, 2023) 
  • $399 - SEL Chicago Partnership Registration including employees of Chicago Public Schools. SEL Chicago can provide an invoice for CPS under Vendor17769.

Course fee includes materials and one-year Positive Discipline Association Educator Level membership for new  members.  School purchase orders are accepted.  CPDUs for Licensed Educators are available for an addition $10 fee payable after registration.

 SEL Chicago supports its mission locally by reducing the cost of Positive Discipline Certification coursework to partner organization employees, including Chicago Public Schools.

The Positive Discipline Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider. ACEP No. 6723. 


The Positive Discipline Association is an approved professional development provider through American Montessori Society (AMS) for this program.


Positive Discipline Certification Programming is co-sponsored by the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP). 


Cancellation/Refund Policy: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop.   Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if registrants do not provide advanced notice that they will not be attending the workshop.  In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
